It does look clever... but... You can't put really heavy things inside because it will be hard and awkward to get down and back up. Also, I don't see that they have labeled the bottom so you know what is inside the items. Playing that guessing game would be no fun.
Yes, agreed, tack to truss, way smarter plan. I guess there is clever and then there is smart. This idea is clever, but could be smarter. I am more elfin like than hulk like, so this would be a stupid design for me :)
