how do you know they haven't? Maybe their battery died. Maybe their computer had a Y2K effect :P. Maybe they mistook the woodchipper for the door you were behind.

True. I guess I was expecting greater reliability from robots who can travel back in time. Now I find out they're running Windows 3000.
