Although there are beautiful forests in the Bay Area, the forests aren't as integrated with the cities as they are in Raleigh. Palo Alto's a city with trees; Raleigh's a forest with a city inside.

Raleigh is littered with small parks like this one, a 10 minute walk from home:

Holy cow!!! I know these places.

Man, we must live within spitting distance of each other.

Yep. Probably so. I live near Six Forks and Wake Forest, and my office is near Six Forks and W. Millbrook. Sound familiar?

Or not.

This IS the South you know. Wimmen here glow, they don't sweat. They speak politely, never cursing. They dress and act demurely, never inappropriately.

BWAH HA HA HA

Wow, you live really near by- I'm at Six Forks and Millbrook. And I like the pictures- I need to spend more time at Shelly Lake this year...

Raleigh is beautiful. I used to date a woman who lived in Chapel Hill, and I'd drive through Raleigh on my way there.

Flagstaff, Arizona has a similar "feel" to it, though the trees are mostly evergreens.

But both of them have that sort of "This is a city?" air to them...

I drove through Flagstaff on my way here. (One of the company's developers live there.) It's quite beautiful. So far, I like Raleigh much better than S.F.

Thanks! Even better is that you can buy a nice home here for between 150 - 170 K. One bedroom apartments rent for $475.00/mo; two bedrooms for $575.00.

One could dig up four similarly tree-laden pictures from nearly any locale, probably even Las Vegas. However, aerial photos demonstrate that Chris isn't fibbing.
