Fed’s seek arrest of the makers of the Liberty Dollar. I think Norfed had a crappy, confusing business model, but it’s pretty clear the government is arresting them because they dared offer a competing currency to our inflation-prone dollar:

Obviously I don't think they deserve this treatment but they should not have used the word dollar. It was confusing to customers and provocative to FedGov. Maybe someone could try creating a silver 'coupon' and explicitly deny that it constitutes money or a currency. Of course FedGov can easily find some other pretext if you become a perceived threat.

Ah, thanks for the reminder. I've got four of their silver tokens I've been meaning to sell. I totally forgot about that until just now.
