Anyone know how to recover the serial numbers for software installed on a Mac? I have some software installed on one Mac, which I would like to install on another Mac. However, I’ve since lost the documentation and serial number. There are several programs that recover serial numbers from installed software on Windows, but none that I’ve found on the Mac side. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Depending on the type of program. What are you hoping to bring over?

Actually - if you want to gank my copy of Office 07 for Mac (buddy of mine works for M$), you're welcome to grab the DVD from me. LMK. :)

PS: If you want to import files wholesale from an older computer, you can do that with Time Machine ... but I suspect that's not relevant in your situation?

Thanks man, that would be great!

Yeah, I don't have any problem retrieving the files. I just want to install the software again, without buying another key.

Let me bring it with me next time I'm in the peninsula. Find me on AIM - we can coordinate a time to meetup and get u the software. I remember backing up Applications when I updated my mac (so all my installed Apps copied over) but don't know if you can fetch just a key.

In any event, DVD is yours to install next time I'm over. Gotta take care of a traffic ticket in San Mateo next week anyway (grumble) so let's figure out something soon. :)
