Good news, Chrysler and GM buyers!

It is my hope that the steps I am announcing today will go a long way towards answering many of the questions people may have about the future of GM and Chrysler. But just in case there are still nagging doubts, let me say it as plainly as I can — if you buy a car from Chrysler or General Motors, you will be able to get your car serviced and repaired, just like always. Your warrantee will be safe.

In fact, it will be safer than it’s ever been. Because starting today, the United States government will stand behind your warrantee.

Tough luck to you Toyota and Honda buyers, but clearly their unions didn’t make sufficient donations during the last election. Also, if you chose not to buy a car at all, my God man, don’t you realize there’s an economy that needs stimulating?!?

Didn't guaranteeing bad home debts get us into this mess? How is warrantying lemons any better?

I'm selling my car to help stimulate the economy by getting someone else to buy it!

Well, I guess that depends on if you have more trust in a warrantee from Toyota Honda, or the U.S. Government.

a friend of a friend is having trouble getting his GM repaired after an accident because of lack of parts. can't say if this is common or widespread.
