Date: 2008-12-24 02:38 am (UTC)Do you understand "copyright" punk?
Date: 2008-12-24 06:44 pm (UTC)Do you not understand that this is a photo I took and it's my choice where and how it's displayed??? By putting it up here without asking me (the answer is 'no' by the way) you are violating my rights -- as well as being inconsiderate.
Now, take it down before I go note flickr a DMCA notice and have your account shut down, you stupid little floor-sweepings.
Merry Xmas, sh*thead,

Re: Do you understand "copyright" punk?
Date: 2008-12-24 11:47 pm (UTC)"Yes - You can use one of my finished artworks as a decorator for your myspace page, or a sticker for your refrigerator, or whatever, as long as you don't edit it and as long as you credit me appropriately. ("Photo by Marcus Ranum" is sufficient) If you just grab my work and don't credit me, you are violating my copyright and I'll make sure that the experience is unrewarding for you."
I initially found your image in a Russian photo collection with no attribution. My friend Oleg pointed out that it was one of your images. So I linked back to the original image, and added a credit for you. In fact, I suspect that you found out that I posted the image because you saw the link from here in your referral logs.
While livejournal is not myspace, I assume that "or whatever" meant that permission applied to similar journaling/social networking sites. Is that a reasonable interpretation?
Given that I:
* didn't edit the image
* linked back to the original
* credited you
* do not make money off my blog or your image
* posted the single image (I didn't decorate my blog with your images en masse)
...if you would be so kind, would you clarify how my use of your image violated your usage policy?
Thanks!
Chris
