Build a space frame with bamboo. Then attach interlocking concrete-foam-concrete SIP panels to space frame. Coat exerior with rubber membrane. The resulting structure should be waterproof, lightweight, and demountable. Would it be strong enough? Not sure.

I really need a copy of SolidWorks. Also, a Wacom tablet.

Shortly after I moved to California I visited a house in Pacifica. The back yard was about 40 feet, but the residents told me that when they'd moved there after WWII the back yard was probably 3x that. Two or three years later, despite intensive engineering efforts to keep the cliffs from eroding, that house fell off the cliff into the ocean. Fifty years to go 80 feet, and then something, who knows what, shifted, and the remaining 40 disappeared in a flash.

Don't underestimate "strong enough" when you're talking about structures near or in the ocean.

Seems the answer to building on the ocean, is to build with something that already builds itself in the ocean.

Something that becomes stronger in salt water, that "lives" that proves for that which is above (us) and that which is below (them).
