Really boring stuff below, of likely interest only to me.

DCIM - stands for “Digital Camera Images”. The name is specified by the “Design rule for Camera File system (DCF), a JEITA specification which defines a file format and file system for digital cameras. The DCIM folder is the root directory, and may contain multiple subdirectories with names such as “123ABCDE”. The alphabet characters often refer to a camera maker. For example, the DCIM directory on my Canon G9 contains a folder labeled “101CANON”. No two directories may have the same three digit code.

i want to know why my camera decided on its own to create 102CANON one day.

I read somewhere that each directory only holds 100 pictures. So if you take more than 100 pictures, it creates a new folder.
