Oh, I don't know, perhaps the changing in outfits represented just a little more than fashion trends?

How would you have represented everything else using only human figurines?

I only thought that perhaps homosexuality was unrepresented, and the Enlightenment symbolized by science and technology; but so is modern capitalism seemingly unrepresented.

(and the 20th century? Of the 270 million killed by the modern state, only ~12-15 million of those by Nazi Germany. 90% of those numbers were by communists with USSR and China vastly dominating.)

It certainly conveys the theme, and judging strictly by the numbers and the most solid historical and archaeological evidence, the theme is right on. Exceptions are mere blips on the screen, if you judge by statistically representative facts.

Awesome post, crasch.

Shows up in panel 6, but it's easy to miss.

I think crasch should explicitly credit the source in the original post, though. What if someone wants to run out and buy the book?

I'd credit the source, but I don't know where it came from. I stumbled across it an online archive of cool pictures, which didn't specify a source.

I agree that history is more than fucking and fighting and changing outfits. Although I think that the pursuit of sex and power has driven a lot of history, my title for the comic was meant to be taken tongue in cheek.

Wow. I'm not sure if I like it, but it's amazing and it did make me cry.

What book does it come from? I found the image online somewhere.

patrissimo: I like your 8-word review. :-)

I'm really impressed by the couple in panel 12--I don't think I could balance like that if I had my pants down around MY lower legs. :-)
