I found the presentation a little confusing - I didn't quite catch on the meaning of his graphs with numerous clocks and hands and numbers all over them - but the argument is sound, and compelling. Too bad no one who needs to listen to this presentation will have the patience for it...

I once read of an evolutionary algorithm whereby someone simulated random keyboards typing a huge corpus of classical works, and selected each generation based on the minimum finger movements required to type everything. In the end, his algorithm came up with keyboards very similar to Dvorak.

That is one of the best uses for YouTube I've ever seen. Right after old Curve videos that I never had a chance to see the first time around.

Really cool! I tend to be wary of analogies on a topic where the backbone is really all facts and examples. I think IDists, Creationists, or whatever they're calling themselves these days, try to argue using analogies and metaphors, because it's the only medium in which they can truly skew the issue.
