Interesting choice of symbolism for a candidate who's supposedly against violent regime change...

If the U.S. government became as corrupt and oppressive as the government depicted in V for Vendetta, I'm sure that Ron Paul would support violent revolution.

I was actually referring to Guy Fawkes, but if this drive is actually based on the comic book and movie that hijacked that symbolism—a choice that is just as telling and even more depressing—would Ron Paul also support indoctrinating new revolutionaries through the use of Orwellian mind games?

No, of course not. They would support, however, taking a stand and fighting back against a repressive government, which I think is the message most people take away from the movie.

If you don't like the campaign, [livejournal.com profile] ernunnos, why don't you promote one that you do like? Or start one of your own?

Because Ron Paul's supporters are so creepy that I no longer wish to contribute to his campaign even for amusement.

Oh shit, it is a V For Vendetta (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yh_9fip694A) reference! It's a good thing I'm not conspiracy-minded, or I'd have to say this was the act of agent provocateurs. Sadly, I have no difficulty believing that his supporters came up with this all on their own.

Dang, I was hoping it would be something like Warren G. Harding's birthday...
