Operation Browncoat

I haven't made an annoying post about Firefly in a while, so it's time for an update. First, the Serenity DVD is coming out on December 20. Would make a great gift for most sci-fi fans. Second, many of the clothes worn by characters in the series are being auctioned off, including the original browncoat worn by Nathan Fillion. As a gesture of gratitude, a group of fans called Operation Browncoat are collecting money to buy it for Nathan. If they win the auction, he gets the coat for Christmas. If they don't, the cash collected will pay for a nice gift, and the rest will go to a charity of his choice.

Apparently, his brother thought it was a good idea, but they don't want to ask Nathan about it because they don't want to ruin the surprise.

Of course, they aren't very clear about explaining how something that is being trumpeted all over the Internet is supposed to be a surprise.
