[livejournal.com profile] ivanafox and I, and perhaps a few other friends, are planning to go see the Future Primitives (Paris dance band) followed by the movie The Triplets of Belleville at the North Carolina Museum of Art. Showtime is 7:00 p.m.; seating is picnic-style, tickets are $12.00. We plan to meet at 6:00 p.m. at the museum box-office. If any of y'all would like to go, please join us!

A brief blurb describing the show:

Our most delightfully offbeat event of the summer pairs the eccentric and wonderful French combo Les Primitifs du Futur (Future Primitives) with the Academy Award–nominated animated film from France, The Triplets of Belleville. Formed by famed American cult cartoonist Robert Crumb, now living in France, and singer-songwriter Dominique Cravic, Les Primitifs perform in the style of Paris dance bands of the 1930s and ‘40s. Though R. Crumb will not be traveling with the ensemble, none of the band’s magic will be lost in live performance.

I love The Triplets of Belleville! It is bizarre, as they say in France
