Okay, cool. But I guess it's better to be safe than sorry ;)

Could you post a "don't click on the link" or better yet remove the link? This thing is going to be a huge plague, no reason to give it any help.

Okay, I changed the warning. However, since this one is relatively harmless, I'll leave it up. Better that they inoculate with a harmless link, rather than find out on one that could cause more damage.

I don't think that's an effective warning.

If I had written that into the systems manual for the aircraft landing system we built, we would be seriously liable.

from the "Sausage Attack" thread (http://www.livejournal.com/community/lj_dev/641972.html) on [livejournal.com profile] lj_dev:
"beware that filling in the form will update your journal without your consent."

Soooo, I strongly suggest something like, "Beware, clicking the link will yada-yada ..." ... or just don't post the link (better yet).

Yes, that's why I don't build aircraft landing systems.

What is even stranger is when I replied above LJ did not open a new page but instead opened up a frame to type the reply into. Is this something new??? I've never seen it before.

I noticed that a couple of days ago....I guess it's something new, but it really caught me off guard. I rarely reply from comments directly, though, so I have no idea how long it's been like this.

It's new within the last couple of days.

It only happens in some journals and not in others. I wonder why. It certainly is faster but does not give the option to pick your avatar

Actually it does. If you click on "More Options", you can choose your icon from there.

So I have to click twice to get to the same page I used to only have to click once...

Not much of an 'improvement' in my eyes! :)

Yeah I know, it's annoying, which is why I don't bother. :)

Apparently it doesn't work with Opera (version 7.5, Windows) - takes you to the LJ post page and gives 'error: no username specified'. Coincidentally, the same error it gives when I try to respond using the form field in Outlook Express - I have to use the web form for 'reply at webpage'.
