Agreed. Theoretically, you could survive on it, but I'm not sure that I'd want to live, if that's all I had to eat. And it's godawful expensive, at least purchased through the local Whole Foods.
Up here in Wisconsin we have had a couple dogs and a young child spontaneously die from exposure to toxins produced by Blue-Green algae during it's 'bloom.' I'm not exactly sure why all of a sudden there is a 'rash' of deaths from this but perhaps it is media blitz related to the impending phosphate ban in fertilizer. The government works in strange ways.
And, of course, since blue-green alge is ancestral to us all, isn't that cannabalism? Or patricide? Or, considering the taste, (clears throat) sewer-side?
