Loft beds are great space savers. San Francisco Loft Bed makes a queen size version for $549.00. You can get a Full Size for $259.

You could probably build one yourself for half that, FYI.

Yes, you're probably right. In my case, though, the time/frustration saved is probably worth the extra cost of having someone else make it.

i'm having frightening visions of myself falling, ass-first, through the bed into the tiny computer monitor.

as one who never quite got the hang of even moderately high-heeled shoes, i'd probably suffer with my "aero extra bed in a minute" and clutter, before attempting to climb atop that monstrosity!

In person, these beds exude sturdiness; I doubt you would fall through the slats.

Falling off the ladder/out of bed on the other hand....

Now I'm getting images of a would-be Lothario attempting to toss his lady friend into bed.

I had one remarkably like this at my very first apartment when I was in Seattle. The room was not much larger than the loft-bed itself, so it turned something dang near unlivable into a pretty cool room.

The only thing I had to watch for was sitting up in the middle of the night and whacking my head on the ceiling.

Hi, just noticed that you added me as a friend. Just thought I would introduce myself.

Howdy.

Like the loft bed. But what about...um.... clearance? It would cause serious problems in my place...

Thanks for stopping by!

Yes, clearance could be a problem. Sadly, it's largely a theoretical problem for me at the moment...:>

You can adjust the frame to varying heights. Of course, lowering it too much will cause clearance problems underneath.

Nice to meetcha! The loft still looks cool, despite the real or theoretical clearance problems. :)

Whoah, that looks seriously cool. I wonder how comfortable they are.

Well, you can use a regular mattress, so I would imagine they're as comfortable as a regular bed. (Although most people leave out the box spring, for greater clearance.)
