On 7 January 2003 the Universal National Act was introduced to the senate by Rep. Rangel and Sen. Hollings. It would require all men and women between the ages of 18-26 to 'perform a period of military service or a period of civilian service in furtherance of the national defense and homeland security'...."

Costa Rica, here I come. They don't even have a standing army, and 10% of their Congress is Libertarian.

When the federal government gets a stick up its ass, even moving to NH won't help. :(

The best historic analysis that I have been able to find leads me to believe that within 10 years or less the United States Government probably institute service for your country at the barrel of a gun.

Richard Maybury http://www.chaostan.com is a remarkably insightful analysist and a great writer. I highly recommend his book titled, "The 1000 Year War" and his WW I and WW II books.
