...for my Free State House. But here's where I am a dick and tell you that the house I currently own is 1800 square feet and only cost me $2000 more than that. Part of the reason I'm not moving to NH immediately is my sweet $400/mo mortgage payment.

(I liberated it from the government....and I don't seem to have a front view handy.)

Good lord, you ARE a dick. That is a darling house. Mine is a lovely house as well, but it's a stretch to call it over 1300 feet, and a mortgage payment of nearly $1900.

And that is considered a STEAL here. Whewf.

Nice! $18 K? Where is your house located? How did you swing such a low price? My brother just bought a HUD house in Twin Falls, ID and he paid $50 K.

Just to be more of a dick, it was technically $17,500. HUD was asking $35,000 (I bought in 2001) and, because I'm a teacher and this is a "blighted neighborhood," HUD picked up half the tab (see "Teacher Next Door" and "Officer Next Door" programs).

It had been abandoned for five years when I bought it, so I had to replace all the burst pipes and radiators and refinish the floors where the water from the pipes and radiators had damaged them. Other than that, everything was basically cosmetic.

Wow, excellent house deal! Was the neighborhood actually blighted? Has it improved?

these are very cute, and i think it's nice to see a company making prefab housing that has some character and style. if i could afford some land around here, i'd buy one in a heartbeat.

Agreed. BTW, you can leave 'em on the trailer. So if you found somebody willing to rent the space to you...

Hmm, even smaller than my first Manhattan apt; don't think I could do it much as it sounds great. I'd have to go with one of the bigger log cabins. I like the pic of the tiny house on the trailer with the dogs on the porch :)
