Does anyone know of any good reviews on the neurobiology of boredom? I'm familiar with Mihalyi Cziksentmihalyi's books (Flow, etc.) Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Are you looking to *enhance* boredom?

No, reduce it when circumstances force you to do something that you would not normally find interesting.

The people who wrote The Programmer's Stone have another online book built on the idea that most modern people are addicted to boredom (and not just metaphorically). They couldn't seem to cite any tests to support this, though, so I didn't read further. But maybe that was just a defense mechanism. :)

Addicted to boredom? Huh. Thanks for the suggestion.
