What online audio programs do you like? Here's a few that I've enjoyed in the past:

This American Life with Ira Glass. Slice of life vignettes of quirky Americana.
Mises Institute recorded lectures.
Fresh Air with Terry Gross. Interviews with authors, actors, musicians, politicians. Music and film reviews.

What else would you recommend?

Sedaris is great. His story of the Christmas play fiasco had me crying.

Along the NPR love, there's Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me. For streaming music, I've got a few favorites, like www.modernbroadway.com and www.creamygoodness.com . I really, really miss radio.sonicnet (formerly imagineRadio).

This American Life is good, but I really suggest listening to Joe Frank. Dark, interesting, completely brilliant storytelling with music backgrounds. Start with An Enterprising Man, Redneck Rounder, or Bitter Pill. But most are excellent. His pledge drives are also great, but it looks like this website doesn't have them.

KCRW used to host them, now there's a bunch of fansites with full shows.

Don't know if you get it down in NC, but the Tavis Smiley show (syndicated through NPR) is great too. Love "This American Life" esp when Sarah Vowell is on it.

terri gross..

This show done by Fresh Air contains an HILARIOUS deconstruction of Terri Gross' psyche as it relates to fashion.

The segment with "Fashion Journalists Trinny Woodall and Susannah Constantine" is it.

Also, this duo does BBC's TV show "What Not to Wear" which shows on BBC America. Dope.
