"There is no such thing as a midlife crisis. Men are often accused of having one when they buy a sports car and start dating women half there age. However, upon further examination, you will notice that until they reach middle age they usually can't afford a sports car, and if they date women half their age before then they may be arrested."

Financial wherewithal was instrumental in my decision to postpone buying a sporty convertible until I was 35.

I got my starter sports car (1989 Nissan 240sx, cost was $18,400) in 1989 because I could not afford the one I wanted (1989 300zx started at $35,000) at age 27.

Last year I finally got the car I wanted, and the price was not an issue. Paid cash for it. Of course a 1993 300zx Twin Turbo is going to have minor issues, even with only 75,000 miles on it, so money for maintenance will be an ongoing reality.

Love the car though.

Still not sure about the "woman half my age" thing. I like the older models anyway.

Should I worry that my husband posted this a week after our young au pair from Europe arrived? :-)
